Establish a clear scope
Match each sign type to its location, quantity, material, finish and illumination requirement. Identify exclusions and responsibilities for power, structural supports, access, permits and making good. Where documents disagree, record a clarification rather than allowing a drawing assumption to become an unexpected site variation.
Agree samples and technical submissions
Set out the samples, shop drawings and material information required for review. A representative sample can help establish finish, lettering, lighting appearance and construction intent. Record the approved revision and any conditions before releasing repeated sign types into manufacture. Changes should remain traceable through the sign register.
Sequence manufacture with the project programme
Group signs around approved information and site readiness. Coordinate fixing locations and concealed provisions before finishes close off access. Where areas hand over at different times, identify release batches and outstanding approvals. Programme commitments should be agreed against the actual quantities, materials and installation conditions.
Close the package with useful records
Handover should identify installed sign references, approved drawings, relevant component details, maintenance guidance and the agreed warranty schedule. Capture unresolved items and the responsible party. Keep spare components and replacement artwork requirements visible so the building team can maintain the package after the construction team leaves.
