Facades and architectural cladding play a crucial role in defining the exterior character of buildings. Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP) remain the most widely used cladding material in the UAE for their light weight, flatness, and wide colour range, but the core material matters: fire-rated (FR) or A2 non-combustible cores are now standard on new projects. Solid aluminium sheet costs more but offers superior fire performance and longevity, making it common on high-rise towers and government buildings. High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) gives a warmer, textured finish popular on hospitality and residential facades. Natural or engineered stone cladding delivers the most premium look at the highest cost and installation complexity. We help clients weigh upfront cost, weight and structural load, fire rating, and long-term maintenance before recommending a material.
Following several high-profile high-rise fires linked to combustible cladding, Dubai Civil Defence tightened facade fire safety requirements, and non-fire-rated ACP is no longer accepted on new builds or major retrofits. Every facade and cladding project we deliver uses FR-core or A2 fire-rated panels and is designed to meet current Dubai Civil Defence and UAE Fire and Life Safety Code requirements, with documentation prepared to support your building’s approval and insurance compliance.
Beyond panel systems, Metroplus runs its own metal fabrication facility for custom facade and cladding elements, rather than outsourcing production. Capabilities include CNC turret punching, CNC perforation, laser jet cutting, laser welding, CNC bending, and TIG, MIG, and ARC welding, with every job verified through 3D modelling before fabrication to confirm structural integrity and fit. We work in aluminium, mild steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, and Corten (weathering) steel, finished to spec with PVDF coating, powder coating, electroplating, or anodizing depending on the durability and appearance required. This in-house capability covers perforated metal cladding, expanded mesh screens, and bespoke mashrabiya-style privacy screens, as well as car park facades, and is backed by ISO 9001:2015 certified quality processes from design through on-site installation.
